This probably should have been one of the first posts on my new blog. I've already posted a free BANS template, an entry on how to modify your BANS footer, and even a post about a BANS competitor: phpBay Pro. Yet I've yet to really explain what BANS is and why I use it. Being new to the blog world, I guess I got carried away with my first few posts. I was a little excited about my pretty new blog.
What is BANS?
Build a Niche Store or BANS is a website script that allows you to add thousands of eBay items to you existing website or blog. It allows you to choose exactly what category of items you want to display and has several features that allows you to refine exactly what products are displayed on your page. The cool thing about BANS is that everything is automatic, meaning that newly listed items are automatically fed into your website. Once you have define the criteria for your listing, new items are automatically fed into your page instantly. The only thing that you need to provide to BANS is your eBay affiliate ID. BANS and eBay do all the rest of the work, as far as tracking any clicks and purchases of items through your website. If a customer of your website clicks on an item from your website and bids on that item and wins, you are paid a commission from eBay. It's as simple as that.
Build a Niche Store is simple to install. You are provided with an easy to follow pdf file that takes you step by step on how to setup your website. Once you have installed a couple of site, it becomes second nature and you should be able to have a new site up and running in only a few minutes. They also provide several free website templates to get you started. If you happen to encounter any issues, the BANS community forum has a wealth of information on how to solved your problems, as well as a ton of information on how to choose a niche, add content, promote your site, etc. Every thing is very well documented and any question that you may have will be answered somewhere on the forums.
Build a Niche Store Features
One note, before you buy. You must also have an eBay Partner membership. When I purchased my copy of BANS, the eBay affiliate process was automatic. Of late, eBay has become more strict with who it accepts into it's program. You are advised to create a content-rich website before you apply to the program. You can read more about that here.
With that said, if you are looking for a hands on, simple solution for creating a money making website, BANS may be for you. As an example, I have included a chart of my eBay earning and clicks from April to date. This will show you that BANS does work as a steady income stream and with a little time and effort, one that will steadily increase over time.

2I think BANS will get a huge competition from Niche Blueprint, which is due to release in a few days

3I doubt Niche Blueprint will create any threat to BANS. In fact, the closer one is Store Stacker which can integrate with eBay, Amazon and Clickbank.

4Sure, a niche store is good way to make money that the big players dont want. But remember that niches dont have much traffic!

6Very nice information. I don’t think I’m at a point where I can open a store, but very informative none the less.
